This morning, Rosabel Miró found a distant adult Bonaparte's Gull in nonbreeding plumage on the mudflats at the mouth of the Matías Hernández River in Costa del Este. The bird was locate again at 9:30, and seen by Karl Kaufmann and Darién Montañez, and it was still there when we left at 10:00. If you haven't seen this rare migrant in Panama, why not try for it at high tide this afternoon?
